To get started, can you describe your role?

Sure, I handle a variety of tasks that assist in coordinating and supporting accounting with accounts payable and receivable. I help the sales team with quotes and data entry, aid production by coordinating work tickets, and support human resources by welcoming candidates for interviews.

How do you manage all the different tasks that come your way on a typical day?

Thankfully I enjoy being organized, detail-oriented, and keeping things in their proper place. I also make sure to keep in constant communication with my coworkers to manage all the tasks and projects.

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

I am a very outgoing person and love meeting people, so this is a great role for me. I get to greet everyone who comes into the office as well as work alongside them. I find it rewarding to see projects and tasks come together smoothly due to my contribution. It’s satisfying to know that I’m playing a part in the success of our team and company. A recent example is helping the team get caught up with data entry before the end of the quarter. It was a significant achievement that had a direct impact on the company’s results, and I was happy to contribute to that success.

Have you seen any recent changes at Dexco that excite you?

I’ve been excited to see our team expanding, it really shows the company’s growth. The addition of new departments and staff, including the Southeast sales team, has been particularly exciting. I also love that a lot more women have joined the team in various roles. All these changes bring a vibrant mix of ideas which I know will drive more growth. It’s an exciting time!

Can you share your hobbies and interests outside of work?

I love traveling and spending time with my family. My family has a few reunions throughout the year and I also stay busy helping to take care of my grandchildren. Lastly, I do scrapbooking, which allows me to preserve cherished and favorite memories as well as important milestones.

What career advice do you abide by?

I would say, always treat people how you want to be treated, with respect. You may not always agree with their decisions, but maintaining a positive and respectful attitude goes a long way. My mother felt strongly in the Golden Rule, and I try to abide by it in all aspects of life.
