Machine Operator

Job Description

We are a fast-paced metal fabricating facility and we are looking for experienced and entry-level candidates looking to get into metals manufacturing or perhaps looking to make a change to their current work situation. Our ideal candidates will have manufacturing experience, preferably in metals manufacturing, or the desire to learn and grow. We will train you if you do not have experience and we promote cross-training in our facilities for individuals who show promise and desire to learn. What you od need is:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Learn to set up and operate a variety of equipment as you build your metalworking skills.
  • Fabricate parts operating the Stripit brake press, Peddinghaus shearing machine, Pacific punch press, horizontal saws, or robotic welders.
  • Check parts produced according to work ticket to ensure all parts are within tolerance of customer specifications.
  • Machine set-up knowledge is a plus.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Maintaining a safe work environment
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Understanding and reading blueprints.
  • Repetitive lifting up to 50lbs;
  • Ability to stand, be mobile, and physically able to handle and transport materials during the 8-hour shift;
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing experience 2 years (Preferred)

 

Language Skills

The work requires you to be able to follow verbal instructions as well as read and understand production documentation that details what needs to be completed on each part, the information is in English, so reading, understanding, and writing in English is a requirement in order to complete the tasks at hand.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and assist with team lifts up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing is an important part of working in the job environment safely. The employee must be able to hear instructions, warnings, buzzers, and alarms.

 

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions, i.e. hot inside during the summer months, and cold inside during the winter months. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 

Standard Work Schedule

  • 8-hr Shift, Paid Weekly
  • 1st Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm
  • $1.50 shift premium for 2nd
  • Mandatory shift(s) or working before/past normal shift hours may be asked as well as MANDATORY OT on occasion.
  • Salary Description: $19.50 per hr/DOE
